Punches

Punch Basics

Use 3L's photo tape or Therm-O-Web's "Keep a Memory" Adhesive tape on the paper BEFORE  punching it. This makes adhering the punched shapes very easy. There are also liquid adhesives that come in dispensers, like ZIG 2 Way Glue that are useful to adhere punched shapes.
Punch Maintenance

Punches are made of metal and need to be lubricated. To lubricate them, use a double thickness of waxed paper. Some punches need more lubrication than others. Many of the border punches will not work right until they are lubricated thoroughly. For a punch that needs extra lubrication, turn it upside down and spray with silicone spray, Amway Wonder Mist, WD-40 or apply a drop of sewing machine oil. Then take some scraps of paper (newsprint works very well) and punch until no trace of oil appears on the punched paper.
